I realize working women need to have a place to find plus size uniforms. I’m writing this in attempt to save you time and frustration so you don’t have to locate your needed work attire on you own.
I guess by definition, uniform means that you have to look like everyone else. So, there is not much room for individualism here. But of course you can still look cute and be comfortable in your uniform, right? A little creativity can go a long way.
Many uniforms come in sets. Meaning the shirt and pants come together. For plus size women, that’s not always ideal. Some of us might be really top heavy requiring a larger shirt size than the bottom. Yet others might have a larger bottom and need a smaller top size.Being able to buy plus size uniforms in pieces is much better. It’ll allow you to buy the right size for your top and bottom. You know your body type better than any clothing manufacturer. So let us patronize those shops that will allow you to mix and match bottoms and tops.
Let’s face it, the working woman needs to be comfortable at work. Tugging at a tight uniform is just not acceptable. Also, pulling up sagging pants is just as horrible.
If you haven’t already done so, measure yourself now. Measure your arms, bust line, waist, hips and thighs. Every woman should know her measurements. This will help you when you are purchasing clothes online. It’ll also save you time when you physically go to stores. Don’t you hate taking 3 identical outfits into the dressing room because you don’t know which one will fit? Save your time by knowing your size.
When shopping for plus size uniforms, comfort is Queen. You will be wearing that uniform for 8, 10 or 12 hours. Be cute, but be comfortable also.
In the summer time you might want to wear a looser fitting uniform. And, if you have control of the colors, then lean toward light colors. It’ll keep you cooler. Likewise, in the winter choose a heavier, darker uniform to keep you warmer.
Some people like doctors and nurses who wear scrubs have a choice of colors. If you do not fall into this category then do your best to find the best fitting uniform for the season.
