Plus Size Tops, blouses, halters, tanks and tees.

Women have many plus size tops to choose from. Our fashions can range from casual to business to hot & sexy.

PLUS SIZE BLOUSES
As you know, a blouse is just another name for shirt. They tend to be more on the dressy side because the fabric is usually soft and made of silk, satin, rayon, cotton etc. Depending on your pants or skirt, blouses can certainly be dressed down also.

Plus Size Tops Some larger women have difficulties wearing blouses with a 'button down' front. Why? Women with a large upper torso and large breasts will have undoubtedly experienced their blouses pulling in the front. Buttons can be unforgiving and the front of the blouse can pucker and separate revealing your skin or undergarment. I know from experience and it’s a hassle going through the day tugging at your top. Plus size tops usually addresses this problem by providing pleats in the bust line for extra room.

Advice #1: When buying blouses buy only those specifically made for plus size women.

A plus size blouse will usually be contoured and designed for heavier women. You’ll also notice that on the side of the breasts, under the armpit, there is an extra pleat in the shirt for added comfort.

Advice: #2 Don’t wear tight blouses if it’s a ‘button down’ front.

Personally, I don’t like to wear anything that’s tight on me, but especially a blouse with buttons in the front. I really don’t care to show the world my bra. Besides it’s just uncomfortable. I like to be able to move freely without my clothes restricting me. So buy plus size tops that fit comfortably.

PLUS SIZE HALTER TOPS
What makes a top, a halter top? The straps. If the straps go up and tie or connect behing the neck, it’s safe to say it’s a halter top. Lot’s of bikini tops are halter tops. Halter tops can also come down to the waist. As long as the straps tie behind the neck, it’s a halter top.

The halters is not something I see too many of us (larger women) wearing. It’s an age appropriate top no doubt. I do see plus size teenagers and young women wearing them.

This top is a matter of personal taste and if you feel good wearing it.

PLUS SIZE TANK TOPS
The biggest difference between a tank and halter are again the straps. Tank straps go over the shoulders, much like a bra. Halter straps tie behind the neck.

Tanks can be dressy or casual depending on the fabric. Dressy tanks are usually worn underneath something like a suit jacket, blazer, or sheer blouse. Casual tanks make a great workout shirt.

PLUS SIZE T SHIRTS
Oh yes, I can’t forget the plus size tee. For so many years, larger women have abused this shirt to no end. What do I mean by that? We wear it everywhere, all the time. Ladies, plus size tee shirts are not the only comfortable shirt for us.

I realize that for so long, many big department stores pushed over sized tees and stretch stirrups on us. But a lot has changed. The change is slow, but it is changing. Online shopping has opened the door to this change.

No longer are we restricted to ‘brick and mortar’ shops. No, we can surf the net faster than we can drive from store to store. Merchandisers are realizing that.

I don’t mean to blast tee shirts. I’m wearing one now and I have a closet full myself. But, I know there are other comfortable options for me too. As I end this article and get dressed for my day, I will definitely put on a top that is appropriate for my day.

So in closing, instead of wearing over sized clothes, buy what’s made for us - plus size tops.
