Plus Size Sleepwear is all about Comfort

Have you ever had a restless night due to improperly fitting sleepwear? Plus size sleepwear must be comfortable first. Why? It’s for sleeping. Do you sleep well when you’re uncomfortable? Probably not.

Sleepwear is slightly different from lingerie. Although, some women sleep in lingerie and teddies, they weren’t designed for sleeping. I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t want to feel scratchy lace or tight underwear when I’m trying to sleep.

While you’re sleeping, you don’t want tight clothing on your body. That will usually interfere with the quality of sleep you get. The sleeves and neckline of your sleepwear need to be large enough so you can comfortably roll over without feeling restricted.

The bust line, waist line and bottoms of sleepwear should also be large enough as to not restrict you and prevent you from having a good night sleep.

The best sleepwear should be:

• comfortable
• made of soft fabric (no lace touching the skin)
• loose fitting
• season specific (light weight in the summer and vice versus)
• and cute

I intentionally put cute last. I think it’s important to look cute as much as possible, but cuteness doesn’t make you sleep better. And, I value good quality sleep more than looking cute.

Things to avoid

• lace (it’s pretty, but it doesn’t feel good directly on the skin)
• small neck line (this will undoubtedly choke you in the middle of the night)
• and tight fitting sleepwear

I know many of you want to look sexy when you go to bed. That’s great, look sexy when you go to bed. But, when you go to sleep, or just before, change into something more comfortable. Chances are, he’ll already be asleep and won’t notice a thing ;-)
